Head congestion is another name for congestion in the sinuses. In ordinary terms, head congestion is the congestion in the nose and is often referred to as a stuffy nose. • The simplest home remedy for any type of congestion is to consume a lot of liquids. When you keep your body hydrated, your mucous will be washed out from the body. If the phlegm and mucous are hard, drinking fluids can help loosen the phlegm, allowing you to cough it out easily.
• Apart from drinking fluids, you can also install humidifiers in your home. These humidifiers help clear out your airways. You can also inhale steam to loosen up the phlegm. Simply heat up a large container of water. When the water comes to a boil, remove from heat, cover your head with a cloth, and bend over the container to inhale the steam. For best results, you can add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the water.

Consuming a diet rich in vitamin C can help you improve your immunity, making you less prone to common cold and other disorders which are precursors to head congestion.
